I’ve been rather lazy lately. It’s the summer and it’s been so hot I haven’t wanted to do anything much less blog and sit in my craft room. With the temp hitting 100 during the day, I try and just stay cool. But I have been working on opening my Etsy shop. I’ll be listing my handmade cards on there for anyone to purchase. Having a great vacation on Tybee Island GA with my husband and two girls as well as my Dad and step Mom. But all things must come to an end. We’re headed back to real life in the morning. I miss my furry kids so much. We weren’t able to bring them with us on this vacation. I also miss my bed and my craft room lol.
Here is my challenge entry for the Lawnscaping Challenge. The challenge was embossing.
It is a birthday card for my step mother.
I used the June 2014 Simon Says Stamp card kit, Hero Arts Mini dye pack called “Quiet Morning”, Peacock Feathers distress ink, and American Crafts white embossing powder.
The technique used here is stamping with distress inks and then using a brush and adding water to the dry image to make it look more like watercolors. I had a lot of fun doing both of these spring cards. I would have made more, maybe a set, if I had more distress ink colors.
Since I am new at blogging, I’d love some feedback to let me know if everything looks okay or if my blog is user friendly or maybe add other things to beef it up. Any advice would be greatly appreciated! Thanks for stopping by.

Two of my mixed media doodles.
I created this with Tombow watercolor markers.
Both were created with only two colors.
The piece on top was created with two watercolor colors and the one on bottom was created with just one color.
Here are some more cards that I have made. I haven’t made a lot of cards because I always get stuck on the designs. Sometimes ideas come to me easily and sometimes I just have to play around and come up with something I like. This was the case with this card I did the other day.
It started out as watercoloring with a couple of distress inks. I finally cut it down and made a card from it, which I wasn’t planning on making.
Since I’m new at blogging, any advice or critique is greatly appreciated. Thank you for visiting!
